The concept is based off of Little Free Libraries, which started in Wisconsin to help spread literacy and creativity all over. On Singer Island, the book boxes allow residents to find a book to read in a way that’s diverse to the area, and to give back to the community by donating a book of their own to the box, and helping residents expand their reading lists and tastes. It also shows off Singer Island’s creativity by finding unique ways to get books to residents.

The residents of Singer Island like to show off their creativity in other ways as well. You may find some of their art for sale at the Sunset Celebration at Sailfish Marina, or you might hear a local band playing at the Seaside Bar and Grill.
