SINGER ISLAND – As winter residents of the Palm Beaches prepare for their annual return to South Florida, they will notice something visibly different on Singer Island. Kolter Urban has begun construction on 5000 North Ocean, the highly-anticipated oceanfront tower located directly on the shores of this popular barrier island just north of the Palm Beach Inlet and south of the PGA Boulevard corridor.

The contemporary designed tower and its resort-style amenities will be situated on 340 feet of direct Palm Beach oceanfront. The tower is centrally located on nearly 4.5 acres, of which nearly two-thirds will remain in its natural state. KAST Construction, Kolter Urban’s long-standing development contractor, has begun site preparations and land clearing for the building. Most notably, the high-capacity piling work is underway, providing the structural support for the new 19-story luxury tower. HJ Foundation is responsible for the augercast piles. CHM Structural Engineering is providing both structural engineering design and consulting services to Kolter Urban as the engineer of record for the project, and Ardaman and Associates is the geotechnical engineer for 5000 North Ocean.

“In the coming month, HF Foundation will be installing the Augercast structural pilings,” says John Grimaldi, Kolter’s project manager. “Although much of this work is underground and not visible from the street level, we anticipate moving into vertical construction early next year.”

In addition to providing 48 expansive private residences, a multi-level parking garage, arrival deck and Porté Cochere are planned. The design, which takes full advantage of the project’s Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Views, was born from the collaboration between Randall Stofft Architects and BC Architects, with BC Architects taking the lead on the construction drawings. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2019.


Pre-construction sales currently account for nearly 25% of the planned residences, priced from $2 million.
